Board and train, River Oaks
Board and train in River Oaks: inner-loop walks, patios and a lot of doodles
River Oaks dogs eat on patios, walk past valets and live behind gates that open forty times a week. A stay for a River Oaks dog is a stay built around the patio settle, the gate and the guests, and the transport brings the handover to the house where all three happen.

The stay, from River Oaks
The transport does the driving, and the handover happens at the gate and on the patio.
Most River Oaks families add the $250 transport: we collect the dog at the gate with the food and records, it lives and trains in the house in Cypress, and at the end of the program we bring it home and run the go-home session in your house, at the gate the deliveries come through and, for families who want it, at the patio you go to on Saturday. Drop-off in Cypress is about 40 minutes up 610 and 290 for families who prefer the drive. The updates arrive Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The final field trips for a River Oaks Platinum dog use real patios and busy sidewalks, so the settle has been proven under a table with strangers before the family tries it.

What a River Oaks dog learns
A settle under the table, a calm gate and a loose leash past the valet stand.
The River Oaks call is a lovely dog that embarrasses its family: the doodle that lunges at the next table on West Gray, the Cavalier that barks at every delivery through the gate, the Lab that greets dinner guests with its whole body. Place is the answer to most of it, a dog that can hold a bed for an hour while the household entertains, and the structured walk handles the sidewalk while door manners handle the gate. Gold installs those in two weeks. Platinum adds neutrality on busy sidewalks for the lunger and the patio settle under real distraction, with unlimited lessons afterwards. VIP produces the dog that is reliable off leash where the rules allow.
- A settle under a patio table for the length of dinner
- A calm greeting at the gate for staff, guests and deliveries
- A loose leash past valets, strollers and dogs on West Gray
- Quiet in the house when the doorbell goes

River Oaks specifics
Staff, deliveries, Buffalo Bayou and a patio season that runs all year.
River Oaks houses have staff, and the go-home session includes everyone who handles the dog so the housekeeper and the family hold the same rules at the gate. Deliveries come all day and the door routine is built with real arrivals. Buffalo Bayou Park is the neighborhood's trail and the leash stays on near the water because of the alligators. Patio season in River Oaks runs all year, with the summer patios shifting to the evening hours, and the settle is the skill a River Oaks dog uses most; the dog-friendly patios guide on this site covers the rules and the progression.
- Staff included in the handover
- Door work with real deliveries
- Leashed on the bayou, always
- The patio settle as the everyday skill

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
How does board and train work from River Oaks?
Your dog lives and trains in our home in Cypress for two to six weeks. Most River Oaks families add the $250 transport so we collect the dog, return it and run the go-home session at the house, the gate and the patio; drop-off in Cypress is about 40 minutes for families who prefer it.
Can you fix a dog that embarrasses us on patios?
Yes. A patio settle is place with duration under distraction, built in every stay and proven on real patios during the last field trips. With the transport, the go-home session can include the patio you actually go to.
Will you train our dog with the housekeeper present?
Yes, and it is the right way to do it. The go-home session and the lessons afterwards include everyone who handles the dog, so the staff and the family hold the same rules at the gate and the door.
Which program for a dog that lunges at other dogs on the sidewalk?
Platinum. Three weeks of structure and neutrality proofed past real dogs on busy sidewalks, with unlimited lessons afterwards so the handling holds on your own block.
