Board and train, Tanglewood
Board and train in Tanglewood: Galleria-side homes and busy streets
Tanglewood is quiet loops with big lots one block from the busiest streets in Houston, and the dog that is a saint on the loop is a different animal at the Post Oak crosswalk. The stay is built for the boulevard, and the transport brings the handover to the loop and the patio.

The stay, from Tanglewood
Up 610 and 290, or the transport with the handover on your loop and at your patio.
Tanglewood families mostly take the $250 transport: we collect the dog at the door, it lives and trains in our home in Cypress for two to six weeks, and we bring it back for a go-home session that starts on your loop and ends at the Post Oak patio or the Uptown Park crosswalk where the walk actually falls apart. Drop-off in Cypress is about 35 minutes for families who prefer the drive. During the stay the dog is part of our household, crated at night and trained daily in the house and on field trips, with photos and a note on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The last field trips for a Tanglewood Platinum dog head inside the loop: Memorial Park, a busy sidewalk and a patio at a quiet hour, so the boulevard has been met before the family holds the leash there.

What a Tanglewood dog learns
The boulevard, the valet stand, the patio and the delivery at the gate.
The Tanglewood doodle walks the loop on a slack leash and loses its mind at the Post Oak crosswalk: buses, valets, strollers, a dog under every patio table. The Cavalier barks at every delivery through the gate, and there are deliveries all day. The Frenchie in a Galleria townhome refuses the elevator. Gold installs place, the structured walk, door manners for the gate and impulse control in two weeks. Platinum builds neutrality on real sidewalks with real traffic at distances that close over days, the settle under a patio table with valets working beside it, and confidence in the elevator, with unlimited lessons afterwards on the boulevard. VIP takes the dog to off-leash reliability at Memorial Park and includes the handover at home.
- A loose leash from the loop to the Post Oak crosswalk
- A settle at an Uptown Park patio with valets beside it
- A calm gate for the deliveries
- Calm in a Galleria townhome elevator

Tanglewood specifics
Traffic a block away, Memorial Park down the road and patio season all year.
Tanglewood's danger is the traffic one block from the quiet loops: a dog that bolts at the Post Oak crosswalk is in the road, so the structured walk and a hard stop at the curb are worked in every Tanglewood stay. Memorial Park is ten minutes away and its loop and wooded trails are where the trail neutrality is proofed and the summer go-home sessions go, because the boulevard sidewalk is hot by mid-morning. Patio season runs all year with the summer patios shifting to the evening hours, and the dog-friendly patios guide on this site covers the progression. The gate takes deliveries all day and the door routine is built with real arrivals.
- A hard stop at the curb before the boulevard
- Memorial Park for the trail and the summer sessions
- Evening patios in summer
- Door work with real deliveries

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
How does a stay work from Tanglewood?
Your dog spends two to six weeks living and training in our house in Cypress. Most Tanglewood families take the $250 transport so we collect and return the dog and run the go-home session on your loop and at your patio; drop-off in Cypress is about 35 minutes for families who prefer it.
Why is our dog fine on the loop and impossible on Post Oak?
Because the loop has nothing on it and the boulevard has everything, and a dog that has never been taught to be neutral to buses, valets and strollers cannot invent it under pressure. Platinum builds that neutrality on real sidewalks before the handover.
Can you help a dog that barks at every delivery through the gate?
Yes. No free access to the gate during delivery hours, place with duration through real arrivals and a quiet cue are built in a Gold or Platinum stay and kept with the daily practice the go-home session teaches.
Do you pick up in the Galleria area townhomes?
Yes, anywhere in Tanglewood, the Galleria area or Briargrove, for $250 both trips including the first lesson in your home. For a townhome dog the handover is run in the building, elevator included.
