Dog training in Hockley
Dog training in Hockley, TX: board and train, lessons and puppies.
Hockley and Waller are minutes from the training home, which makes drop-off, go-home sessions and follow-up lessons especially easy. In-home private lessons are available across the area.
Hockley · Harris County
Trained for the life you actually live.
Hockley has more land, more livestock and more space for dogs to run off, which is why recall, boundaries and off-leash reliability are the most common goals here. Every program is built around what your dog actually needs to do at home.
Real-world training
Where the field trips go.
- Feed stores and hardware stores
- Open acreage and long-line recall work
- Quiet country roads with wildlife
- Neighborhood parks and trails
Field trips and public exposure are part of the Platinum and VIP programs. Calm, neutral behavior around dogs, people and distractions is built in public, then transferred to you in the go-home session.
Getting to Cypress

Questions
From Hockley families.
Do you offer pick-up and drop-off?
Yes. The $250 transportation service picks your dog up from home, returns them when the program is complete, and includes the first lesson in your home. Transport home is already included in the VIP program.
Which areas do you serve?
Houston, Cypress, The Woodlands, Tomball, Katy, Spring, Montgomery, Hockley and surrounding areas. The training home is in Cypress, northwest Houston. Families also drive in from further out for board and train.
Where does my dog stay during a board and train?
In our trainer’s home in Cypress, not a warehouse or kennel. That in-home environment is the point: real-world training in everyday settings, so the results transfer to your home.
Who actually trains my dog?
The Best Dog University team, led by founder and head trainer Seth Purdom. Over 16 years of hands-on experience and more than 900 dogs trained. Best Dog University keeps a limited number of dogs at a time so every program stays customized.
Will I hear from you while my dog is away?
Yes. Professional photo and video updates go out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so you see the progress as it happens.
What happens when the program ends?
A go-home session where you’re shown exactly how to maintain and build on the results. After that, follow-up lessons and lifetime support. Platinum includes unlimited private lessons; VIP includes unlimited in-home lessons.
