Dog training in Fulshear: Cross Creek Ranch and acreage west of Katy

Fulshear is where Katy's master-planned sections give way to acreage, horses and long fence lines. The dogs are bigger, the yards are bigger and the distractions are bigger, and a dog that is fine on a Cross Creek sidewalk can be a different animal on five acres with deer at the tree line.

How it works from Fulshear

Pickup from Cross Creek or the acreage, and the handover on your land.

Fulshear is a real drive from Cypress, so most families take the $250 transport: we collect the dog at your door, the drive is its first field trip, and at the end of the program we bring it home and run the go-home session where the dog lives, which for an acreage dog means the fence line, the barn and the gate. Drop-off families are welcome and do the handover in Cypress.

The dog lives in the training home, not a kennel, and you get photo and video updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

  • $250 pickup and return with the first lesson at home
  • Transport included in VIP
  • Go-home session at the fence line for acreage dogs

Fulshear dogs

Two Fulshears: the family dog and the farm dog.

Cross Creek Ranch dogs are Katy dogs: doodles and Labs with too much energy, pulling on the trails, barking at the window, jumping on guests. Gold handles them. The acreage dogs are different: shepherds, Malinois, cattle dogs and livestock guardians bought for the property, that chase deer, harass the horses, bark at the fence all night and treat a visitor's truck as an intruder. Those are Platinum and VIP dogs, and our founder's background with horses is a real advantage with them.

Boundaries, neutrality to livestock, a recall that holds against wildlife and calm at the gate are the acreage curriculum. It is built on a long line in open fields near the training home and finished on your own land in the go-home session.

  • Boundaries at the fence line without a physical fence
  • Neutrality to horses, cattle and the barn cats
  • A recall that beats a deer at the tree line
  • A calm greeting for the truck at the gate

Where we train near you

Cross Creek trails, the feed stores and the open fields.

Family dogs get the Cross Creek Ranch trails and lakes for loose-leash work and recall, the patios in the town center for the settle, and the pet and feed stores on FM 1093 for neutrality. Acreage dogs get open fields for long-line recall, then the property itself: a Fulshear VIP handover is a walk of the fence line with the Mini-Educator explained and demonstrated at every point the dog used to break.

Summer heat on open land is brutal; from May to September acreage work runs at dawn and dusk, and the working breeds get water every fifteen minutes and a hard stop.

Programs and prices

Platinum and VIP for the acreage dogs, Gold for Cross Creek.

Three weeks of Platinum at $3,750 covers boundaries, neutrality and recall with unlimited lessons afterwards, and it is the usual answer for a working breed that has started making its own decisions. Six weeks of VIP at $10,000 produces complete off-leash reliability across the property, with the transport and the in-home handover included. Gold at $2,500 covers the Cross Creek manners set, and in-home lessons at $220 handle the follow-up.

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

Do you pick up in Fulshear and on acreage west of town?

Yes. The $250 transportation service collects your dog from Cross Creek Ranch, Fulshear proper or an acreage address, returns it at the end of the stay and includes the first lesson on your property. VIP includes it.

Can you teach a dog to stay on our land without a fence?

Boundaries are taught with a long line and a clear edge, then proofed with the Mini-Educator in the VIP program for complete reliability. It takes weeks, not days, and it holds only with the follow-up lessons that VIP includes.

My dog harasses the horses. Is that trainable?

Yes. Neutrality to livestock is exposure at a distance the dog can hold, closer over days, with structure underneath it. Our founder grew up training horses, and calm around them is part of the acreage curriculum in Platinum and VIP.

How far is Fulshear from the training home?

About 35 to 45 minutes to Cypress via Grand Parkway and 290 outside rush hour. Most Fulshear families take the pickup; drop-off families do the go-home session in Cypress.
