Dog training in Friendswood: big yards, top schools and storm season

Friendswood is a family town: big yards, good schools, a lot of first dogs and a memory of Harvey that shapes how people plan. The dogs we see from Friendswood are strong, under-walked because the yard is so big, and untested in a crate until the first storm warning.

How it works from Friendswood

An hour from Cypress, and the transport makes it simple.

We do not pretend Friendswood is close. The drive to the training home is an hour or more, so almost every Friendswood family takes the $250 transport: we collect the dog at your door, it lives and trains in the home in Cypress, and at the end of the program we bring it back and run the go-home session in your house and yard. Drop-off is welcome for families who prefer the drive.

The dog lives in the house with our trainers, not in a run, and you see it work in photo and video updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

  • $250 pickup and return with the first lesson at home

Friendswood dogs

A big yard is not a walk, and the crate is not optional.

The Friendswood dog is often a Lab, golden or shepherd with a half-acre yard and no structured walk, because the yard seemed like enough. It is not: the dog has energy, no job and no manners on a leash, and by a year it pulls, jumps and barks at the fence all afternoon. The rescues from the shelters south of town add a fear layer.

Gold installs the manners and the walk in two weeks. Platinum handles the fearful rescue and the fence-line barker, with field trips and unlimited lessons afterwards. Every stay includes crate calm, because in Friendswood a dog that panics in a crate is a dog that cannot evacuate, and every family here knows what that means.

  • A structured walk to replace the yard as exercise
  • Quiet at the fence when the neighbors are out
  • A crate the dog settles in on command, for storm season
  • Calm greetings for a shy rescue

Where we train near you

Stevenson Park, downtown and FM 528.

Lessons and go-home sessions in Friendswood use your own yard and street first, then Stevenson Park and Centennial Park for loose-leash work and recall on a long line, the downtown patios for the settle, and the stores on FM 528 for neutrality around carts and people. Those skills are built around the training home during the stay and proofed on outings that step up in difficulty.

Storm season is the Friendswood specific. Crate calm, a settled car ride and a dog that can spend a day in a strange room are built into every stay, and the hurricane guide on this site is written with the south side in mind.

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

Is Friendswood too far for your board and train?

No, but it is an hour, so the $250 transport is the standard choice. We pick up and return, the drive is part of the training, and the go-home session happens in your Friendswood home. Drop-off is welcome if you prefer.

Do you do lessons in Friendswood and League City?

Yes, in-home lessons are $220 per session across Friendswood, League City, Pearland and Clear Lake. They suit a specific problem, a puppy or the follow-up after a stay.

Why do you make a point of crate calm for Friendswood dogs?

Because the south side evacuates. A dog that rides calmly in a crate for hours and settles in a strange room can go anywhere with you in a storm; a dog that panics in a crate limits your options on the worst day of the year. It is built into every stay.
