Dog training in Energy Corridor: Terry Hershey trails and corporate schedules
The Energy Corridor is engineers, expats and long hours, Terry Hershey Park out the back door and a townhome or a Nottingham Forest house with a dog that is alone more than it should be. The dogs we see from the corridor are under-walked on weekdays, over-walked on weekends and confused by the difference.

How it works from the Energy Corridor
Time the stay to the trip, and let the transport handle both ends.
Energy Corridor families often book a stay for the weeks they are away on rotation or travel: the dog is trained instead of boarded, and it comes home the day they do. The $250 transport makes that work without a handover appointment in Cypress; we collect the dog before the trip and run the go-home session in your home when you are back. Families with normal weeks drop off in Cypress, about half an hour away.
The dog lives in the house with our trainers, and you see the work in photo and video updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, wherever you are.
- Stays timed to travel, transport at both ends
- Drop-off in Cypress, about 30 minutes
- In-home lessons in the evenings, $220
- Updates three times a week, anywhere in the world
Energy Corridor dogs
Alone all week, over-stimulated all weekend.
The corridor dog spends weekdays alone in a townhome or with a walker, then gets a two-hour Terry Hershey walk on Saturday and cannot handle it: pulling toward every dog, lunging at bikes, ignoring the recall along the bayou. At home it barks at the hallway or the window and greets the tired owner like a hurricane. Some are relocated dogs, brought from another country, that have never seen a Houston summer or a Texas trail.
Gold builds the off switch and the walk. Platinum handles the reactivity on the trail, with field trips on Terry Hershey and unlimited lessons afterwards, and it is the program for the dog that has started lunging at bikes. Crate calm and independence are built into every stay, which is what a dog alone all week needs most.
- A loose leash on Terry Hershey past bikes and dogs
- Calm alone in a townhome, without the hallway barking
- A settle at the CityCentre patios
- A recall along the bayou on a long line
Where we train near you
Terry Hershey, CityCentre and the I-10 stores.
Lessons and go-home sessions in the corridor use your own street or building first, then Terry Hershey Park and the Buffalo Bayou trail for loose-leash work and recall on a long line, the CityCentre patios for the settle, and the stores along I-10 and Highway 6 for neutrality. The training home builds those skills first, then proves them on field trips that get busier as the dog can handle it.
Terry Hershey's paved sections are hot by nine in summer; from May to September trail work runs early and late, and the leash stays on near the bayou in every season because of the alligators.

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
Can I time a board and train to a work trip?
Yes, and many Energy Corridor families do. The dog is trained instead of boarded, the $250 transport collects it before you leave and returns it the day you are back, and the go-home session happens in your home that afternoon.
How far is the Energy Corridor from the training home?
About 25 to 35 minutes to Cypress via the Beltway or Highway 6 and 290 outside rush hour. Drop-off is easy; the transport is there for travel schedules.
Do you offer evening lessons in the corridor?
In-home lessons at $220 are scheduled around your day where the calendar allows, including evenings. They suit a specific problem, a puppy under four months, or the follow-up after a stay.
Our dog came with us from abroad and has never seen a Texas summer. Any advice?
Heat first: dawn and dusk outdoors from May to September, the pavement test on every walk, and the store aisles for afternoon work. Then structure, because a relocated dog settles fastest with clear rules. The free call is the place to talk through the rest.
