Memorial runs from the park to the villages, and its dogs walk more than most in Houston: the Memorial Park loops, the bayou trails, the sidewalks of Nottingham and Wilchester. The problems that come to us are walk problems and guest problems, and both are built into every stay.

How it works from Memorial
Close enough to drop off, and worth the transport if you want the lesson at home.
Memorial is one of the closer inner-city areas to the training home, and many families drive out to Cypress for drop-off and again for the go-home session. Others add the $250 transport so that the handover happens on their own street, which is the better choice for a townhome dog whose problems are the elevator, the stairwell and the neighbors' dogs on a narrow sidewalk. Either way, the dog lives in the house with our trainers and you get photo and video updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
In-home lessons in Memorial are $220 per session and suit a specific problem, a puppy under four months, or the follow-up after a stay.

Memorial dogs

Three Memorial dogs come to mind. The doodle that pulls its owner around the Memorial Park loop and lunges at every runner. The French bulldog in a CityCentre townhome that barks at the hallway and refuses the elevator. And the Lab in a village house that cannot be in the room when guests come for dinner. The first is a walk problem, the second is neutrality and confidence, the third is place and door manners.
All three are built in a Gold or Platinum stay and then proofed in the environments the dog lives in. A Memorial Park loop at seven in the morning is a serious exposure environment, and a patio at CityCentre is a good test of a settle.

Lessons and go-home sessions in Memorial use the park loops for loose-leash work, Terry Hershey for distance and recall on a long line, the stores along I-10 for neutrality around carts and people, and the CityCentre patios for the settle. During the stay, the same skills are built around Cypress and the lake, and a Platinum dog gets field trips into busier places as it earns them.
Memorial summers put the loop at 90 degrees by eight in the morning; from May to September the outdoor work is early and late and the store aisles carry the middle of the day.

Gold is two weeks for $2,500 and handles the manners set. Platinum is three weeks for $3,750 with behavior modification, field trips and unlimited private lessons afterwards, and it is the choice for the reactive park dog. VIP is six weeks for $10,000 with off-leash reliability and an in-home handover included. In-home lessons are $220; at the training home, $160. The Puppy Development Bundle is $750 in your Memorial home.
