Board and train, Woodforest
Board and train in Woodforest: from the 1488 corridor, pickup available
Woodforest is a big-dog neighborhood in the pines: shepherds, Bernese, Labs and doodles that walk forest trails where deer step out without warning and come home to a pool and an HOA. The stay builds the recall for the deer and the settle for everything else.

The stay, from Woodforest
Forty-five minutes down 249, or a pickup under the pines.
Woodforest families split evenly. Some drive 1488 to 249 and down to 290, about 45 minutes outside rush hour, drop off in the morning with food, records and medication, and come back for the go-home session at the training home. Others add the $250 transport, which brings our trainer to the house to see the yard, the pool gate and the greenbelt behind the fence, and brings the go-home session back to that same yard when the stay ends. VIP includes the ride and the in-home handover.
The stay itself is the same either way: a settling day, then daily training in the house, on the streets, in the stores on 290 and at the lake near Cypress. You get photos and video on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The handover teaches the household the handling, and a Woodforest dog's household usually includes kids and a pool, so both get covered.

What a Woodforest dog practices
The deer at the trail edge, the pool, the front door and the 1488 stores.
Deer are the Woodforest problem. A big dog that sees one bolt from the tree line pulls its owner off the trail or goes through a screen door, so the recall and the leave-it are built first on a long line at the lake near the training home, then around distractions, then at distance. Texas Parks and Wildlife's white-tailed deer page is worth reading for when the deer are moving; the dog's job is to look at you when they do.
The pool gets a wait at the gate and a calm exit, the front door gets a threshold rule that survives kids running through it, and the stores along 1488 get a down-stay learned first in the aisles on 290. Lake Conroe is close, and water manners for a family that boats are practiced on a long line before the dock. Montgomery County's site covers the county-side parks and animal rules; check it before assuming a trail is off leash.

Which program
Platinum for the deer chaser, Gold for the big friendly puppy, VIP for the forest off leash.
A Woodforest Bernese or Lab that is friendly, heavy and untrained fits Gold: two weeks at $2,500 for the manners set, with the go-home session and one more lesson. A dog that chases deer, lunges at other dogs on the forest trails, guards the door or panics in thunderstorms fits Platinum: three weeks at $3,750, with behavior modification, field trips into public places and unlimited private lessons after. Most Woodforest families choose Platinum because the recall needs the third week and the lessons keep it.
VIP at $10,000 is the six-week program for a dog that will walk the forest trails off leash, with the Mini-Educator included, transport included and the handover and all follow-up lessons at your home. It is service-dog-level reliability rather than service dog certification, and it is the only program where off leash under the pines is the goal rather than a hope. Our team says on the consultation call which stay fits.
- Gold: the heavy, friendly puppy
- Platinum: deer, trail reactivity, storms, unlimited lessons
- VIP: off leash on the forest trails
Prices and the deposit
The Woodforest price list is the published one.
Gold is $2,500, Platinum $3,750 and VIP $10,000. A $250 reservation deposit holds the dates and comes off the price. Transport is $250 for pickup and return, first lesson at home included, and at 45 minutes about half of Woodforest takes it; VIP includes it. The calendar matters out here too: outdoor work shifts to early and late from May through September, and hurricane season from June 1 to November 30 is followed through the National Weather Service so a stay is never caught out by a storm.
| Program | Length | Price | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 2 weeks | $2,500 | Friendly dog, manners and the walk |
| Platinum | 3 weeks | $3,750 | Reactivity, anxiety, aggression, field trips |
| VIP | 6 weeks | $10,000 | Off-leash reliability, e-collar and transport included |

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
Do you pick up in Woodforest?
Yes. The $250 door-to-door transport covers Woodforest and the 1488 corridor, includes the first lesson at your home on delivery, and puts the go-home session on your own street. At about 45 minutes each way it is the choice roughly half of Woodforest families make; the rest drive to Cypress.
Can you stop my dog chasing deer?
We can build a recall and a leave-it that interrupt the chase, proofed on a long line and around real distractions, and Platinum is the program for it because the work needs three weeks and unlimited lessons afterward. VIP takes it to off leash with the e-collar. No dog should be trusted near deer on hope alone.
Will a big dog be comfortable in a house with other dogs?
Yes. The training home is a house with a limited number of dogs, each with its own crate and place, and big dogs do well in the structure. Woodforest families with shepherds and Bernese usually notice the change indoors first: a dog that finally lies down.
Where does the go-home session happen for Woodforest?
At your house if the dog rides home with our trainer or finishes VIP: the trainer walks the greenbelt, the pool gate and the front door with you. If you drive to Cypress for pickup, it happens at the training home, and an in-home lesson can be booked afterward.
Are the forest trails off leash?
Assume not. Woodforest's trails run under HOA rules and Montgomery County rules, and both change, so check the community documents and the county's site before unclipping a leash. A VIP graduate is reliable off leash where that is allowed; the rule about where is not ours to set.
