Board and train, Summerwood
Board and train in Summerwood: for Summerwood, Fall Creek and Eagle Springs
Summerwood is lakes, greenbelts and a Beltway commute, which means a dog that spends the day alone, gets its walk at dusk on a trail beside water and spends weekends near Lake Houston. The stay builds the settle for the empty house and the manners for the water.

The stay, from Summerwood
Around the Beltway to Cypress, or a pickup at West Lake Houston Parkway.
The drive from Summerwood is West Lake Houston Parkway to Beltway 8, around to 290, about 45 minutes outside rush hour and considerably more at the wrong time, which is why Summerwood families are split between driving and the $250 transport. Drivers drop off in the morning with the dog's food, records and medication and return for the go-home session at the training home. Transport families get our trainer at the door, a look at the house and the trail, and the handover back at home.
Inside the training home the dog gets a settling day and then daily work: place and the crate, the structured walk on the streets around the house, the store aisles on 290, and the lake for water manners and recall. Photos and clips come Monday, Wednesday and Friday, timed well for a household that is on the Beltway at both ends of the day. VIP includes the transport and the in-home handover.

What a Summerwood dog practices
The empty house, the dusk walk by the water, and Lake Houston on the weekend.
A Summerwood dog is alone through a Beltway commute, so the settle comes first: rest in the crate and on place while the house is empty, quiet at the door for the afternoon deliveries, no destruction by four o'clock. Then the walk that happens at dusk on a greenbelt beside water, with a loose leash past other dogs and a wait at the lake's edge instead of a plunge. Both are built in the training home and on the streets around it and proofed in public on Platinum field trips.
Lake Houston is the weekend, and water manners for a family that boats are practiced on a long line at the lake near the training home before any dock. Mosquito pressure beside that much water is year-round, so heartworm prevention stays current; the American Heartworm Society explains the risk. Summer sessions run early and late from May through September, with the aisles in the heat of the day, and the AVMA's heat page covers the pavement rule.
- A settle that lasts a Beltway commute
- A loose leash on the dusk greenbelt walk
- A wait at the lake edge and a recall out
- Calm on a dock before a boat ride
Which program
Platinum for the dog that cannot be left, Gold for the friendly puller, VIP for off leash by the lake.
Gold, two weeks at $2,500, fits the friendly Summerwood dog that pulls on the greenbelt, jumps on the kids and cannot settle when the family gets home: sit, place, the structured walk, door boundaries and impulse control, with a go-home session and one more lesson. Platinum, three weeks at $3,750, fits the dog that panics or destroys when left, barks and lunges at other dogs on the trail or guards the door, with behavior modification, field trips and unlimited private lessons afterward.
VIP, six weeks at $10,000, finishes a dog for off-leash reliability and includes the Mini-Educator, the transport, an in-home handover and unlimited in-home lessons. For a family that wants the dog off leash on the shoreline where allowed, it is the program; for most Summerwood dogs, Gold or Platinum is the honest answer and our team gives it on the consultation call. Silver at $1,500 refreshes a graduate in one week.
- Gold: pulling, jumping, no settle
- Platinum: separation panic, trail reactivity, door guarding
- VIP: off leash on the shoreline where allowed
Prices and the deposit

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
How far is Summerwood from the training home?
About 45 minutes outside rush hour, West Lake Houston Parkway to Beltway 8 and around to 290, and longer at commute time. That is why many Summerwood families take the $250 pickup and return, which also puts the first lesson and the go-home session at their own front door.
My dog destroys the house while we are at work. Which program?
Platinum. Destruction while alone is usually anxiety, not boredom, and it needs the three weeks of behavior work, the crate and place foundation, and the unlimited lessons afterward to hold once the Beltway commute resumes. Tell our team on the consultation call how the dog behaves when you leave.
Do you cover Fall Creek and Eagle Springs?
Yes. The $250 transport covers Summerwood, Fall Creek and Eagle Springs, and drop-off families from all three take the same route around the Beltway. The go-home session happens at your home with transport or VIP, and at the training home in Cypress if you drive.
Can you teach water manners for Lake Houston?
Yes. The wait at the water's edge, the recall out of it and calm on a dock are built on a long line at the lake near the training home and handed over at the go-home session. A dog that swims well is not the same as a dog that comes back; the second one is what we build.
What about heartworm and mosquitoes by the lake?
Mosquito pressure on the Lake Houston side is year-round, so heartworm prevention should never lapse; the American Heartworm Society has the guidance. During the stay the dog stays on whatever prevention you bring, and our team confirms the medication list on the consultation call.
