Board and train, Humble

Board and train in Humble: pickup on the Lake Houston side is the usual choice

Humble is older subdivisions near the Deerbrook corridor, newer ones stretching toward Atascocita, long commutes into the city and dogs that spend the working day alone. A stay here is built around a dog that can settle by itself and walk politely when you finally get home.

The stay, from Humble

We collect the dog at your door, and the drive to Cypress is the first field trip.

From Humble the training home is about 40 to 50 minutes by Beltway 8 outside rush hour, and more in traffic, so most families here book the $250 transport. Our trainer arrives at your door, does the first lesson in your home so you see the handling before the dog leaves, and the drive west is the dog's first field trip: the crate in the vehicle, the calm arrival, the walk into the house. You can still drive out and drop off if you prefer, and some families do.

Day one in Cypress is decompression. From day two the work is daily in the training home and on the sidewalks, stores and lake around it, and you follow it in photos and video every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The stay ends at your house for transport families and every VIP graduate: our trainer brings the dog home, runs the go-home session in your living room and on your street, and leaves you holding a leash that behaves.

What a Humble dog practices

A settle for the long day alone, and a walk that works after a Beltway commute.

The Humble dog's day has a shape: a fast walk before the commute, eight or nine hours alone, and an owner who comes home tired to a dog that has been saving up. The stay teaches the crate and place as calm places rather than punishments, a settle that lasts while nobody is watching, and a structured walk that gives the dog its outlet in twenty minutes instead of an hour of pulling. Door manners and a quiet cue for the window round it out.

Neutrality is built on the Cypress sidewalks and in the store aisles during the stay. Back home, the go-home walk for a transport family can use the Deerbrook corridor stores and, for the trail version, Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center, a Harris County Precinct 4 park with wooded trails. Lake Houston is the water test for a dog that will spend summer weekends on a boat. Check the precinct's site for current rules and hours before you take your own dog.

  • A crate and a place bed that mean rest, not punishment
  • A settle that holds with nobody home
  • A twenty-minute structured walk after the commute
  • Neutrality on the Deerbrook sidewalks and at Jesse Jones Park

Which program Humble families choose

Platinum for the dog that cannot be left alone, Gold for the one that simply pulls.

Gold at $2,500 is the fit for the friendly dog that pulls, jumps and barks at the window: two weeks of sit and stay, place, the loose leash, door boundaries, jumping and impulse control, with a go-home session, one more lesson and lifelong support. Platinum at $3,750 is the fit when the dog destroys the house while you are at work, panics in the crate or lunges at other dogs on the walk. Three weeks gives room for behavior modification and field trips, and the unlimited private lessons afterwards keep working after the transport has gone.

VIP at $10,000 includes the transport and the in-home handover as standard, with six weeks, off-leash reliability, the Mini-Educator and unlimited in-home lessons; for a Humble family it removes the distance from the equation entirely. Silver at $1,500 is a one-week refresher for a graduate who has drifted.

  • Gold for pulling, jumping and window barking
  • Platinum for separation anxiety, crate panic and reactivity
  • VIP with transport and the handover at home built in

Prices and the deposit

Published prices, and $250 that turns a Beltway round trip into a doorstep handover.

Gold is $2,500, Platinum $3,750 and VIP $10,000, the same everywhere we serve. The $250 reservation deposit holds the dates you pick and is taken off the program. Transport is $250 for pickup and return, and from Humble it is worth the money twice over: it saves two long drives, and it puts the first lesson and the go-home session in your home, where the crate, the front door and the sidewalk are the real test. VIP includes it.

Follow-up lessons run $160 at the training home or $220 at your house; Platinum and VIP include them without limit, and the in-home version is the practical one from Humble. Graduates can book boarding with training refreshers when a trip comes up, and our team takes calls from 6am to 9pm daily so a commuter can reach us before or after work.

Humble specifics

Long commutes, a hot garage and a storm season that closes 59.

A Humble dog is walked in the dark in summer, before and after the commute, because from May to September the pavement fails the hand test for most of the day and the stores carry the midday work. Heartworm pressure near Lake Houston runs all year, and so does the mosquito season, which comes up on the consultation call. Hurricane season, June 1 to November 30, matters for a family 45 minutes from the training home: we agree at booking who moves the dog and when if a storm is named, so nobody is deciding on the Beltway.

  • Early and late walks in summer
  • Heartworm prevention year-round near the lake
  • Storm plan agreed before pickup
  • A settle that outlasts a long commute

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

Is Humble too far for board and train in Cypress?

No. About 40 to 50 minutes by Beltway 8 outside rush hour is a normal distance for us, and the $250 door-to-door transport is built for it. Your dog is collected at home, the first lesson happens there, and the go-home session is in your living room.

Do I have to use the transport from Humble?

No. You can drive to Cypress for drop-off and the go-home session, and some Humble families do. Most choose the transport because it saves two long drives and moves the handover to the house where the habits live. VIP includes it, so there is no decision to make.

My dog chews the house while I am at work. Which program?

Platinum at $3,750. Destruction while you are gone is usually anxiety or boredom with no structure, and it needs the three weeks of behavior modification, the crate work and the unlimited lessons afterwards. Gold covers manners for a dog that is already calm alone.

Where does the go-home session happen?

At your home if you use the transport or book VIP, which is most Humble families: our trainer brings the dog back and runs the session in your house and on your street. At the training home in Cypress if you drove out for drop-off.

Will the training hold with a nine-hour workday?

It is built for one. The crate and place are taught as rest, the walk is structured so twenty minutes actually tires the dog, and the go-home session gives you a daily routine that fits a commute. Platinum and VIP add unlimited lessons for the weeks when the routine slips.
