Board and train, Aliana

Board and train in Aliana: for Aliana and the Grand Parkway side of Richmond

Aliana is new streets, new fences and a lot of doodles and retrievers bought as puppies who are now eighteen months old and stronger than the kids walking them. The stay is where an adolescent dog learns that the leash, the door and the front yard have rules.

The stay, from Aliana

Forty minutes up the Grand Parkway, or a pickup on a street that is still new.

From Aliana the training home is West Airport to 99, north to 290, about 40 minutes outside rush hour. Plenty of families drive it, drop off in the morning with the dog's food, vaccination records and any medication, and come back at the end for the go-home session at the training home. Families who want the handover on their own street add the $250 transport; our trainer collects the dog, sees the yard and the fence, and returns the dog with the first lesson at your door.

In the house the first day is decompression and the rest are work: place, the crate, the structured walk on the streets around the training home, the aisles of the hardware and pet stores on 290, and the lake. Monday, Wednesday and Friday bring photos and short video. The go-home session teaches the handling to every member of the household, including the kids who will end up holding the leash on the trail.

What an Aliana dog practices

The open front yard, the trail, the lake and the adolescent brain.

Aliana's fence rules keep front yards open to the street, which means the front door opens onto the whole neighborhood and a doodle that bolts through it is on the sidewalk in two seconds. The threshold rule at the door is built early in the stay and proofed with distraction. The trails and lakes are the daily walk, and a loose leash past other dogs, strollers and bikes is the difference between a pleasant loop and a shoulder injury; that walk is taught on quiet streets and finished in public places on Platinum field trips.

Most Aliana dogs are adolescents, and an adolescent retriever tests every rule it learned as a puppy. Impulse control is the theme of the stay: a wait at the lake edge, a sit before the leash goes on, a place while dinner is made. Mosquito pressure in Fort Bend is year-round, so heartworm prevention stays on the calendar every month; the American Heartworm Society explains why. Summer training runs early and late from May to September with the aisles in between.

  • A threshold rule at a door that faces the street
  • A loose leash on the lake trail
  • Impulse control for an adolescent retriever
  • A wait at the water and a recall out of it

Which program

Gold for most Aliana doodles, Platinum when adolescence has turned into reactivity.

Gold, two weeks at $2,500, is built for the Aliana adolescent: sit, place, loose-leash walking, door boundaries, no jumping and impulse control, with a go-home session and one more lesson. It is the program most doodle and retriever families here need. Platinum, three weeks at $3,750, is for the dog whose adolescence has turned into barking and lunging at other dogs on the trail, guarding the front door or panicking when left, with behavior modification, field trips and unlimited private lessons afterward.

VIP at $10,000 is six weeks for a dog finished for off-leash reliability, with the Mini-Educator included, transport and an in-home handover included, and unlimited in-home lessons. It is the right choice for a family that wants the dog off leash on the trails where allowed, and more than most Aliana dogs need. Silver, one week at $1,500, is a refresher reserved for graduates. Our team matches the dog to the stay on the consultation call.

  • Gold: the adolescent doodle or retriever
  • Platinum: reactivity, guarding, separation panic
  • VIP: off leash where allowed, in-home everything

Prices and the deposit

Aliana pays the published price, with the ride optional.

Gold is $2,500, Platinum $3,750 and VIP $10,000, the same in Aliana as in Cypress. The $250 reservation deposit holds the dates and is taken off the balance. Transport is $250 for pickup and return with the first lesson at your home, optional at 40 minutes and included in VIP. Fort Bend County's site is the reference for county animal rules, and the HOA documents cover the fence and leash rules; the stay gives the dog the manners to live inside both.

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

How far is Aliana from the training home?

About 40 minutes outside rush hour: West Airport to 99, north to 290, then a few minutes into Cypress. It is a comfortable drive for drop-off and the go-home session, and families who prefer the handover at home add the $250 transport instead.

My eighteen-month-old goldendoodle has stopped listening. Which program?

Gold, if the dog is friendly and the problem is pulling, jumping, bolting through the door and ignoring you; two weeks of structure and impulse control is exactly what an adolescent needs. If the dog has also started barking and lunging at other dogs, that is Platinum.

Can my kids be at the go-home session?

Yes, and they should be. The session teaches the handling to everyone who will hold the leash or open the door, and in Aliana that includes the kids who walk the dog to the lake. It happens at the training home for drop-off families and at your house with transport or VIP.

Is the yard fence a problem for training?

No. Aliana's fence rules mean the front is open, so the door and the driveway are where the rules matter, and those are built into every program. A recall for the open front yard is part of the go-home session; off-leash reliability across the whole yard is VIP territory.

Do you train through the summer?

Yes. Outdoor sessions move to early morning and evening from May through September, pavement is checked before every walk, and the store aisles and the house carry the hot hours. A dog that starts in June trains as many hours as one that starts in October.
