Aliana, Richmond

Dog training in Aliana: new streets, new dogs and a lot of doodles

Aliana is a master-planned community in Richmond, on the Grand Parkway side of Fort Bend County, with new streets, lakes and trails, Harvest Green next door and a doodle or a retriever behind most front doors. The dogs are young, the families are busy, and the HOA's fence rules mean the dog spends its day looking through wrought iron at the street.

How it works from Aliana

Forty minutes up the Grand Parkway, and both options are common.

The training home is a house in Cypress off 290 near Fry Road, about 40 minutes from Aliana outside rush hour, West Airport to 99 and straight north. Plenty of Aliana families drive it, drop off, and return for the go-home session. Plenty take the $250 transport, which collects the dog at your door, returns it at the end and includes the first lesson in your home. The drive is the only difference; the training is the same.

Your dog lives inside with a limited number of other dogs, trains every day, and goes on field trips to stores, sidewalks, parks and the lake as the program builds. Photos and video come Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Every program finishes with the go-home session, at your house or ours, where the handling becomes yours.

Lessons and puppies in Aliana

The puppy bundle for the doodle puppy, and lessons at $220 for the rest.

Aliana has a lot of puppies. The Puppy Development Bundle for puppies under four months is four sessions of 45 to 60 minutes, $750 at your home or $550 in Cypress: sit, place, stay, recall, crate and potty routines, calm socialization, and the nipping and jumping a doodle puppy specializes in. Started early, it is the cheapest training a family ever buys.

Private lessons for an older dog are $220 at your home or $160 in Cypress, and they suit one problem, the follow-up after a stay, or a family that wants coaching. After Platinum or VIP the follow-up lessons are unlimited, and Aliana families use them on their own trails.

Where we train near you

Aliana's trails and lakes, the 99 stores and the sidewalks to Harvest Green.

Go-home sessions and follow-up lessons in Aliana use the community's trails and lake paths for the walk past strollers, bikes and other doodles, the stores along the Grand Parkway for neutrality around carts and doors, and the sidewalks between Aliana and Harvest Green for a long, calm heel. Fort Bend County publishes the county's animal rules; read them there rather than from a neighbor.

New neighborhoods have retention lakes, and every retention lake in Fort Bend can hold an alligator, so the leash stays on at the water. Fresh sod means fire ant mounds. Mosquitoes and heartworm are year-round. From May to September the outdoor sessions run before nine and after seven, with the pavement tested by hand first.

Aliana dogs

Doodles and retrievers that pull, jump and bark through the wrought iron.

The Aliana dog is a doodle or a golden between six months and two years. It pulls on the trail, jumps on the neighbors, barks through the wrought-iron fence at every dog, walker and delivery van, and cannot settle when guests come. The fence rules make it worse: an open fence means the dog watches the whole street all day and rehearses barking at it.

Gold, two weeks, installs the manners: place, a loose leash, doors, no jumping, impulse control and a rule at the fence. Platinum, three weeks, is for the dog whose fence barking has become lunging on the walk, and adds behavior modification, field trips and unlimited lessons. The order most Aliana families follow is below.

1

Puppy bundle before four months, if you have the chance

2

Daily leash and place practice through six months

3

A Gold stay when adolescence turns into pulling and jumping

4

Platinum if the fence barking has become reactivity

5

Follow-up lessons on your own trail after any stay

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

Is Aliana in Richmond or Sugar Land?

Aliana is a master-planned community in Richmond, on the Grand Parkway side of Fort Bend County, next to Harvest Green. The training home in Cypress is about 40 minutes north via 99 outside rush hour, so both drop-off and the $250 pickup are realistic.

Can you fix the barking through the fence?

Yes. Fence barking at an open wrought-iron fence is rehearsal all day long, and the fix is a place command, a settle in the yard, a rule at the fence and, at home, some management of the view. Gold builds it; the follow-up lessons keep it.

Do you pick up in Aliana?

Yes. The $250 transportation service collects your dog at your door in Aliana, returns it at the end of the program and includes the first lesson at your house. VIP includes it. Drop-off in Cypress is welcome, with the go-home session there.

My doodle is fourteen weeks. What should I book?

The Puppy Development Bundle. Four sessions at your home or in Cypress cover the crate, potty routines, recall, place and calm socialization before the puppy is old enough for a stay. Our team maps the timing on the free call.

How do in-home lessons work in Aliana?

A trainer comes to your house for $220 a session, works the actual trail, the actual fence and the actual front door, and leaves you homework. Most families book four to six sessions a week or two apart. After a Platinum or VIP stay, those lessons are unlimited.
