Board and train, Westchase

Board and train in Westchase: from the Westchase corridor and Royal Oaks

Westchase is apartments, townhomes and gated sections along the Beltway and Westheimer, and its dogs live around elevators, garages and shared green space. The manners that matter are a wait at every door, a loose leash past the neighbors on the shared lawn and a settle in a home with no yard of its own.

The stay, from Westchase

Up the Beltway to 290 for drop-off, or a pickup at the garage gate.

Westchase to the training home is about 25 to 30 minutes up Beltway 8 to 290 outside rush hour, so drop-off with the food, medications and records is a short morning, and we take drop-offs from 6am to 9pm daily. Families who want the handover in the building add the $250 transport: our trainer meets you at the garage gate or the lobby, runs the first lesson in the elevator and on the shared lawn, and drives the dog to Cypress for a quiet first day.

From day two the training is daily in the home and on the sidewalks, in the stores and at the lake near it, with photos and video every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The go-home session is at the training home for drop-off families and in your building or gated section for transport families and VIP graduates, where the elevator, the garage, the shared green space and the Westheimer sidewalk are the test.

What a Westchase dog practices

A wait at the elevator, a loose leash on the shared lawn and a settle without a yard.

The Westchase dog goes from the apartment door to the elevator to the garage to the shared lawn, and it meets a neighbor's dog at every one of those. The stay builds a wait at each threshold, a structured walk on the Cypress sidewalks with dogs and carts passing close, neutrality on a lawn where the other dogs are off leash when they should not be, and a settle on place that replaces the yard the dog does not have.

For the go-home session and the lessons afterwards, the classrooms are close: Arthur Storey Park at Beltway 8 and Bellaire, a Harris County Precinct 3 park with a lake and open lawns, the trails along Brays Bayou through Westchase, managed by the Harris County Flood Control District, and the Westheimer stores for aisles and doors. Check Precinct 3 and the Flood Control District sites for current rules before you practice there yourself.

  • A wait at the apartment door, the elevator and the garage
  • A loose leash on the shared lawn past off-leash dogs
  • A settle on place instead of a yard
  • Neutrality on the Brays Bayou trail

Which program Westchase families choose

Platinum for the elevator lunger, Gold for the friendly dog with no yard.

Gold at $2,500 suits the friendly dog that pulls to the lawn and jumps on the neighbors: two weeks of sit and stay, place, the loose leash, door boundaries, jumping and impulse control, with a go-home session, one added lesson and lifelong support. Platinum at $3,750 is the fit for the dog that lunges in the elevator, barks through the wall when left or guards the front door; three weeks buys behavior modification, field trips and unlimited private lessons afterwards, and the lessons in your building are where the elevator gets fixed.

VIP at $10,000 gives six weeks, off-leash reliability, the Mini-Educator included, transport and the handover in your building with unlimited in-home lessons; it suits the household in a gated section with a big lot and a dog they take everywhere. Silver at $1,500 is the one-week refresher for a graduate who has slipped back into old habits.

  • Gold for the friendly, yard-less dog
  • Platinum for elevator lunging, wall barking and door guarding
  • VIP for the gated-section dog that goes everywhere

Prices and the deposit

Published prices, a $250 deposit, and a transport that fits a garage gate.

Gold, two weeks, is $2,500; Platinum, three weeks, is $3,750; VIP, six weeks, is $10,000. A $250 reservation deposit locks the dates and is applied against the program price. Transport is $250 for pickup and return with the first lesson at your home, included in VIP; from Westchase the drive is short, and the families who add it do so to have the handover in the elevator and on the shared lawn rather than in Cypress. Drop-offs are taken at the training home from 6am to 9pm daily.

Private lessons afterwards are $160 at the training home or $220 at your building; Platinum and VIP include them without limit, and most apartment households use the at-home version. Boarding with training refreshers is there for graduates who travel for work. The pricing page carries every number, and the consultation call is free.

Westchase specifics

A hot garage, a shared lawn with rules and a dog alone through a Beltway commute.

The garage floor and the sidewalk along Westheimer fail the pavement test by mid-morning from May to September, so the summer walk is early or after dark and the stay runs the same schedule with store aisles at midday. Shared green space comes with leash rules set by the property or the association, which we do not quote; check your lease or HOA documents and tell our team what they require. A dog alone through a Beltway commute needs the crate and place to mean rest, which the stay builds, and fireworks on July 4 carry through an apartment block, so place with noise is rehearsed before the dog goes home.

  • Pavement test in the garage and on Westheimer
  • Property leash rules checked and followed
  • A crate and place that mean rest through the commute
  • Place with noise before fireworks nights

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

How far is Westchase from the training home?

About 25 to 30 minutes outside rush hour, up Beltway 8 to 290 and on to Cypress near Fry Road. That is an easy drop-off, and the $250 transport is there for households that want the first lesson and the handover in the building.

Can the training fix a dog that lunges in the elevator?

Yes, with Platinum at $3,750. Elevator lunging is reactivity and needs three weeks of behavior modification and gradual public exposure, then the unlimited private lessons afterwards, which our trainers run in your building so the elevator itself is where the new behavior is rehearsed.

My dog has no yard. Does board and train still make sense?

It makes more sense, not less. The dog learns place, the crate and a real settle inside a house, and the structured walk on real sidewalks, which is exactly what a dog without a yard needs. The go-home session in your building covers the elevator, the garage and the shared lawn.

Where is the go-home session for Westchase?

In your building or gated section for transport families and every VIP graduate, with the elevator, the garage and the lawn as the classroom. At the training home in Cypress for families who dropped off, a short drive back up the Beltway.

Other dogs are off leash on our shared lawn. What then?

The stay builds neutrality so your dog walks past them on a loose leash without joining in, and the go-home session shows you how to handle an approach. We do not quote your property's leash rules; check your lease or association documents and tell our team what they say.
