Dog training in Westchase: apartment and townhome dogs on the west side
Westchase is apartments, townhomes and gated sections along Westheimer and the Beltway, with Arthur Storey Park at one corner and the Brays Bayou trails running through. Dogs here live around elevators, parking garages and shared green space, which means every walk starts with a neighbor and every potty trip is a public event.

Westchase dogs
Shared space, shared walls and a dog that has to be good in public every day.
A Westchase dog does not have a backyard to be bad in. It has a hallway, an elevator or a stairwell, a garage and a strip of grass that every other dog in the building also uses. If it barks at the neighbor's door, lunges at the neighbor's dog on the grass or drags its owner through the garage, the whole building knows by the end of the week. That pressure is why Westchase families call.
The skills are neutrality and structure. Neutrality means the dog can pass a person or a dog in a hallway and do nothing about it. Structure means place with duration in a small space, a structured walk that makes a short loop count, and a crate the dog rests in while you are at work. A stay installs both in a calm house and proofs them in public, and the in-home lesson rehearses your actual building.
- Quiet in the hallway when the neighbor's door opens
- A loose leash through the garage and the gate
- Neutral to the other dogs on the shared grass
- Place in the apartment while you work

How it works from Westchase
Twenty-five minutes up the Beltway and 290, or pickup at your gate.
Westchase to the training home in Cypress is about 25 to 30 minutes outside rush hour: Beltway 8 north to 290, then west toward Fry Road. It is a short enough drive that many families drop off, bring the dog on the first day and return for the go-home session at the training home on the last. The $250 transportation service is there for the rest: we meet you at your gate or lobby, and at the end of the program we bring the dog back and teach the first lesson in your home.
Your dog lives in our trainer's house with a small group of dogs, trains all day in the house, the yard and on field trips into stores, parks and sidewalks, and you get a photo and video update three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. VIP has the transport and an in-home handover built into its price.
Where we train near you
Arthur Storey Park, the Brays Bayou trails and the Westheimer stores.
Arthur Storey Park at Beltway 8 and Bellaire is a Harris County Precinct 3 park with a lake, open lawns and a loop trail busy with families and other dogs; the precinct's site carries the current rules. The Brays Bayou trails through Westchase are managed by the Harris County Flood Control District and give a structured walk real distance, with the leash on at the water's edge because bayous can hold alligators.
The Westheimer stores are the indoor classroom, with carts, automatic doors, crowds and people who lean in to pet a dog. During the stay, Platinum and VIP field trips use the public places nearest Cypress; the in-home lesson and follow-ups use Arthur Storey, the bayou trail and your own building. From May to September the trail work happens early and late, and the garage floor and the sidewalk get a hand test before any midday walk.
- A heel on the Arthur Storey loop past strollers
- Distance on the Brays Bayou trail
- A sit at the Westheimer store doors while carts pass
- Leash on at the lake and the bayou
Lessons in your building
In-home lessons in Westchase at $220, and the shared-grass potty trip done right.
A private lesson at your Westchase apartment, townhome or gated home is $220; the same session at the training home in Cypress is $160. A lesson fits one problem, a family still deciding on a stay, or the follow-up after any program. In Westchase the lesson covers the route: the door, the hallway, the elevator or stairs, the garage, the gate and the shared grass, each with a rule.
For a puppy under four months there is the Puppy Development Bundle, four private sessions of 45 to 60 minutes at $750 in your apartment or $550 in Cypress. A Westchase puppy learns potty on cue on the shared grass, the crate for the hours you are out, the elevator as boring, and sit, place, stay and recall before it is big enough to embarrass you in the hallway.
At the door: sit, wait, release, leash loose before the door opens
The hallway and elevator: a heel, no greeting the neighbor unless invited
The garage: a sit at every car that moves
The grass: potty on cue, then a down while another dog uses it
Back inside the same way, and place for five minutes to finish

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
Do you pick up from Westchase apartments and gated sections?
Yes. The $250 transportation service meets you at your lobby or gate, brings your dog to the training home, returns it at the end and includes the first lesson at your home. It is included in VIP. Tell our team on the free call how your building or gate handles visitors so the handoff is simple.
My dog lunges at other dogs on the shared grass. Which program?
Platinum. Reactivity on shared green space needs behavior modification, field trips past real dogs and unlimited lessons afterward so you can rehearse your own building with our trainer. Gold handles manners; a dog that lunges needs the third week and the follow-up that comes with it.
Is Arthur Storey Park good for training?
Yes, on leash. It is a Harris County Precinct 3 park with a loop trail, a lake and enough families and dogs to test a heel without overwhelming a dog. Check the precinct's site for the current rules, keep the leash on at the water, and go early in summer.
How long is the drive from Westchase to Cypress?
About 25 to 30 minutes outside rush hour, Beltway 8 north to 290 and out to Fry Road. It is short enough that many Westchase families drop off, and the $250 pickup with its in-home lesson is there for the weeks when the Beltway or the calendar says no.
What if my building has rules about dogs in common areas?
Your lease and the building's rules are the authority, and we will not guess at them. What training changes is the reason anyone complains: a dog that is quiet in the hallway, neutral in the elevator and calm on the grass is a dog the building stops noticing.
