Board and train, the Heights
Board and train in The Heights: bungalows, trails and dog-friendly patios
The Heights is the most patio-friendly and most walked neighborhood inside the loop, and its dogs are rescued more than most. A Heights stay is built around the trail, the porch and the patio, and 290 makes it a short drive.

The stay, from the Heights
Straight up 290, or the transport with the handover on the trail.
The Heights sits at the bottom of 290 and the training home sits near the top, so drop-off is a short drive and many Heights families make it twice. The $250 transport brings the go-home session to the neighborhood: the hike-and-bike trail past the bikes, the porch as the street goes by, and a townhome stairwell for the new-build dogs. Your dog lives in our home, not a run, trains every day in the house and on field trips, and you get updates on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The last field trips for a Heights Platinum dog head down 290 to a busy trail and a quiet patio, so the bikes and the tables have been met before the family takes over.

What a Heights dog learns
The trail, the porch, the patio and the stairwell.
Heights dogs are walked more than most and rescued more than most: the rescue that lunges at bikes on the hike-and-bike trail, the pit bull that barks at every passer-by from the porch, the Frenchie that will not settle under the table on White Oak, the townhome dog that cannot handle the stairwell and the neighbors' dog through the fence. Platinum handles the reactive rescue with daily structure and controlled exposure to bikes, runners and dogs at a distance that closes over days, with unlimited lessons afterwards on the trail itself. Gold covers the manners for the excitable dog, and both build the patio settle on real patios.
- A loose leash on the trail past bikes and dogs
- Quiet on the porch as the street goes by
- A settle under a patio table for the length of dinner
- Calm in a townhome stairwell and hallway
Programs and prices
Platinum for the reactive rescue, Gold for the manners.
Platinum at $3,750 is the Heights program because the trail's bikes and the porch's passers-by make reactivity common, and the unlimited lessons afterwards happen on the trail; with the transport it is $4,000 door to door. Gold at $2,500 covers the manners, $2,750 with transport. VIP at $10,000 bundles the transport and the handover on your trail. A $250 deposit holds the dates and is taken off the balance.
| Program | Length | Price | Door to door |

Heights specifics
Bikes at speed, a patio every block and a summer trail that is hot by nine.
The hike-and-bike trail carries bikes at speed and the neutrality to them is the core of a Heights stay; the trail is hot by nine from May to September, so summer go-home sessions happen early and the store aisles along Shepherd and Yale carry the afternoons. The patios on 19th Street and White Oak are the settle exam and the dog-friendly breweries guide on this site covers the progression. New-build townhomes share fences and stairwells, and the handover for those dogs is run in the building. Rescues from BARC and the Heights-area rescues get their first month of decompression before a stay, which our team will say on the free call.
- Neutrality to bikes as the core skill
- Early trail sessions in summer
- Patios as the settle exam
- Stairwells and shared fences for townhome dogs

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
How far is the Heights from the training home?
About 30 to 40 minutes straight up 290 to Cypress outside rush hour, which makes drop-off easy. The $250 transport is there if you want the go-home session on your own trail and porch.
Can you help a rescue that lunges at bikes on the trail?
Yes. That is reactivity, worked with structure first and exposure at a distance the dog can hold, closer over days. Platinum does that daily for three weeks and includes unlimited lessons afterwards on the trail with you holding the leash.
Will my dog be able to sit on a patio with us?
Place with duration under distraction is built in every stay and proofed on real patios during the last field trips. With the transport, the go-home session can include the patio you go to on 19th Street or White Oak.
Which program for a Frenchie that barks from the porch?
Gold, usually: no free access to the porch during delivery hours, place with duration as the street goes by and a quiet cue, built in two weeks and kept with lessons at home. If the barking is fear of strangers, Platinum.
