Board and train, Porter
Board and train in Porter: the 59 corridor north of Kingwood
Porter is new construction in Valley Ranch beside older lots and acreage in New Caney, and its dogs are meeting a lot of new neighbors: the construction crews, the puppies on every street and the deer at the back fence. A stay here builds manners for the new street and a recall for the old lot.

The stay, from Porter
Fifty minutes down 59 and the Beltway, or a pickup at the new front door.
Porter families can drive: 59 south past Kingwood, then Beltway 8 west to 290, about 50 minutes outside rush hour. Most book the $250 transport instead. Our trainer arrives at your house in Valley Ranch or on your lot in New Caney, runs the first lesson there so you see the handling before the dog leaves, and the drive to Cypress becomes the first exercise in calm. Either way, drop-off morning ends with the dog inside a house, not a kennel run.
The first day is decompression, and from day two the training runs daily in the home and on the sidewalks, stores and lake near it, with photos and video every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For transport families and VIP graduates the stay ends at your door: our trainer brings the dog home, runs the go-home session on your street or across your lot, and leaves you with a plan for the first week. Drop-off families take the same session at the training home.

What a Porter dog practices
New-neighbor manners in Valley Ranch, and recall on a New Caney lot.
A Valley Ranch dog lives on a street where every week brings a new family, a new puppy and a new crew with a nail gun. It needs a loose leash past all of them, a settle on place when the doorbell goes for the fourth time, and a door that holds open without a bolt. A New Caney dog on acreage needs the other set: a recall past deer, a boundary at the road and a stop at distance. The stay builds both in the training home and on the Cypress sidewalks, then the go-home session applies whichever one is yours.
For neutrality at home, the go-home walk can use Valley Ranch Town Center's sidewalks and the 59 corridor stores for aisles and carts, and Lake Houston Wilderness Park in New Caney, operated by the City of Houston, for trails and wildlife scent. Check the city's parks site for the park's current rules, fees and hours before you go on your own; we describe it, we do not quote it.
- A loose leash past construction crews and new puppies
- A settle on place through the fourth doorbell
- Recall and a road boundary on a New Caney lot
- Neutrality on the trails at Lake Houston Wilderness Park

Which program Porter families choose
Gold for the new puppy grown up, Platinum for the fearful rescue, VIP for the acreage.
Gold at $2,500 suits the young dog that came home with the new house and has grown into a friendly puller: two weeks of sit and stay, place, the loose leash, door boundaries, jumping and impulse control, with a go-home session, one added lesson and lifelong support. Platinum at $3,750 fits the rescue that is fearful of the crews and the neighbors, or the dog that lunges on the street or guards the yard; three weeks buys behavior modification, field trips and unlimited private lessons afterwards.
VIP at $10,000 is the New Caney program: six weeks to off-leash reliability across an unfenced lot, the Mini-Educator included and introduced properly, and transport home with the handover done on your land and unlimited in-home lessons after it. Silver at $1,500 is a one-week refresher for a graduate that has slipped.
- Gold for the friendly young dog on a new street
- Platinum for fear, lunging and guarding
- VIP for off-leash reliability on acreage
Prices and the deposit
Published prices, a $250 deposit, and transport that makes the 59 drive disappear.
Gold runs $2,500, Platinum runs $3,750 and VIP runs $10,000. Dates are held by a $250 reservation deposit that counts toward the program. Transport is $250 for pickup and return with the first lesson at your home, included in VIP; from Porter it saves two round trips of 50 minutes each way and puts the go-home session on your own street or lot, where the crews, the neighbors and the deer are waiting to test it. If you would rather drive, the training home takes drop-offs between 6am and 9pm, seven days a week.
Follow-up lessons are $160 at the training home or $220 at your home; Platinum and VIP include them without limit, and from Porter the at-home version is the sensible one. Graduates can book boarding with training refreshers. The pricing page carries every number, and the consultation call is free and takes only a few minutes.

Porter specifics
Construction dust, a lot with no fence yet, and a summer that starts in May.
New construction means a yard with no fence for the first months and a street full of trucks, so the recall and the door wait matter before the sod goes in. From May to September outdoor sessions run early and late, with the stores carrying midday, and the go-home walk includes the pavement test so you know when the sidewalk is too hot. Hurricane season, June 1 to November 30, is planned at booking; 59 north of Kingwood is a long way from Cypress when a storm is named, so we agree in advance who moves the dog. Fire ants love fresh dirt, and mosquito pressure runs all year.
- Recall and a door wait before the fence goes in
- Early and late sessions from May to September
- Storm plan agreed before pickup
- Fire ant and heartworm awareness on new lots

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
How far is Porter from the training home?
About 50 minutes outside rush hour: 59 south past Kingwood, Beltway 8 west and 290 to Cypress near Fry Road. It is a normal distance for us, and the $250 transport is the reason most Porter families never make the drive.
Do you cover New Caney as well as Porter?
Yes. The transport reaches Valley Ranch, older Porter streets and acreage lots in New Caney, and the go-home session is run wherever the dog lives, whether that is a new sidewalk or an unfenced lot. Tell our team the address on the consultation call.
Our dog is scared of the construction crews. Which program?
Platinum at $3,750. Fear of crews, strangers and noise is anxiety, and it needs the three weeks of behavior modification and the gradual public exposure that Gold does not include. The unlimited lessons afterwards let our trainers walk your street with you as the neighborhood fills in.
Where is the go-home session for Porter families?
At your house or on your lot if you used the transport or booked VIP, which is most Porter families. In Cypress at the training home when the family made the drop-off drive themselves. Either way you take the leash with our trainer beside you before the session ends.
Can the training handle deer on a New Caney lot?
Yes. Recall past wildlife is built on a long line at the training home, proofed against scent on field trips, and finished on your lot at the go-home session. VIP is the program if you want the dog off leash across the property; Platinum gets a reliable recall on a long line.
