Board and train, Kingwood
Board and train in Kingwood: the livable forest, trails and deer
Kingwood calls itself the livable forest, and its dogs live like it: seventy-five miles of greenbelt, deer in the front yard and a lot of tempting things to chase. The dog that is lovely in the house and a different animal on the trail is the Kingwood call, and the stay is built around the trail.

The stay, from Kingwood
The northern arc of the Beltway, or the transport with the handover on the greenbelt.
Kingwood to Cypress is the Beltway or the long way along 1960, and the $250 transport makes more sense than the drive for most households twice: the dog is collected at the door, lives and trains in the house in Cypress, and comes home to a go-home session on the greenbelt nearest your street, where the bikes and the deer that caused the trouble are. Drop-off families do the handover in Cypress. Updates come Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and the recall work is visible in them by the end of the first week.
The training is the same either way: the dog lives in a house with our trainers, not a kennel run, and trains daily in the home, in open fields and on field trips.

What a Kingwood dog learns
A recall that beats a deer, neutrality on the greenbelt and a heel past the squirrels.
The Kingwood dog bolts after deer, lunges at every dog on the greenbelt and pulls its owner off the path toward the squirrels; a big yard and a forest of distractions build a strong dog with no off switch, and the greenbelt rewards every bolt. Platinum builds the recall on a long line in open fields, then at the lake, then around wildlife at a distance the dog can hold, and it builds neutrality to other dogs on real trails, with unlimited lessons afterwards on the greenbelt itself. VIP finishes the recall off leash with the Mini-Educator taught to you on your own trail. Gold covers the manners for the Kingwood dog that only pulls and jumps.

Kingwood specifics
Deer, Lake Houston, floods and the forest in summer.
Deer walk through Kingwood yards daily, and a prey-driven dog's recall is built for them before any freedom; coyotes are around at dusk too. Lake Houston at East End Park is where the water recall gets proofed and where the leash stays on near the bank, because the lake holds alligators in the warm months. Kingwood floods, and Harvey taught its families what that means; crate calm is built into every stay. The forest shade makes the greenbelt usable into a summer morning, and the double-coated shepherds still get the dawn-and-dusk schedule with the store aisles at noon.
- Recall built for deer and coyotes before any freedom
- Leashed near Lake Houston in the warm months
- Crate calm for storm season
- Shade helps; the summer schedule still applies

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
Can you make my dog reliable off leash on the greenbelt?
That is the VIP program: six weeks, complete off-leash reliability with the Mini-Educator taught to you on your own trail. Platinum builds the recall on a long line and the neutrality; VIP finishes it. The leash laws on the trails still apply, and off-leash is earned place by place.
Do you pick up in Kingwood?
Yes, anywhere in Kingwood, Atascocita or Humble, for $250 both trips including the first lesson in your home. VIP includes it, and the go-home session for a transport family happens on your own greenbelt.
My dog chases deer. Is that fixable?
Prey drive is managed and redirected rather than erased. A long-line recall built around wildlife at a distance the dog can hold, closer over days, gives you a dog that comes back from a deer; it is the core of the recall work in Platinum and VIP.
How far is Kingwood from the training home?
About 45 to 55 minutes to Cypress via the Beltway or FM 1960 outside rush hour. The pickup is the sensible choice at that distance; drop-off families do the go-home session in Cypress with the lake there standing in for Lake Houston.
