Dog training in Bellaire: Bellaire and Meyerland sidewalks, parks and pools

Bellaire is a city inside the city: its own police, its own parks, sidewalks on every block and a pool in a lot of backyards. The dogs we see from Bellaire and Meyerland are family dogs with two problems, the walk and the water, and a third one every December, the guests.

How it works from Bellaire

A trainer at your house, or a stay in Cypress with the handover at your gate.

Bellaire families often start with in-home lessons: $220 a session, at your house, working the walk on your block, the pool gate and the front door. That fits a dog with some structure and a specific problem. A dog that needs the whole foundation takes a stay in the training home in Cypress, about 40 minutes up 610 and 290; most add the $250 transport so we collect and return the dog and run the go-home session in your home.

Either way the dog lives in a house with our trainers, and you see the work in photo and video updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Bellaire dogs

The walk, the pool and the December guests.

The walk is the daily problem: a Lab or doodle that pulls down Bellaire's sidewalks toward every dog, and a rescue that shies from strangers on the same sidewalk. The pool is the summer problem: a dog that launches in at every party and cannot be called out. The guests are the December problem: a dog that cannot hold place while thirty people come through the door for the holidays.

A Gold stay installs place, the structured walk, door manners and impulse control; a Platinum stay adds the neutrality for the reactive dog and the confidence work for the shy one, with field trips and unlimited lessons afterwards. Water manners, a wait at the pool edge and a recall out of the water, are built at the lake during the stay and transferred at your pool in the go-home session.

Where we train near you

Evelyn's Park, Brays Bayou and Meyerland Plaza.

Lessons and go-home sessions in Bellaire use your own street first, then Evelyn's Park and Bellaire Town Square for loose-leash work and the settle, Brays Bayou trail for distance and recall on a long line, and the Meyerland Plaza stores for neutrality around carts and people. During a stay, the same skills are built around Cypress and at the lake, and field trips get busier as the dog earns them.

Brays Bayou floods, and Meyerland families know it. Crate calm is part of every stay so a storm night or an evacuation drive is a manageable event.

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

Do you do lessons in Bellaire and Meyerland?

Yes, $220 per session across Bellaire, Meyerland, West U and Braeswood. Lessons suit a specific problem or a puppy under four months, and they are the follow-up after every stay.

Can you teach my dog pool manners?

Yes. A wait at the water's edge and a recall out of the water are built at the lake during a Platinum or VIP stay and transferred to your pool in the go-home session, which is one reason Bellaire families take the transport.

How far is Bellaire from the training home?

About 35 to 45 minutes to Cypress via 610 and 290 outside rush hour. Drop off yourself or take the $250 pickup and return, which includes the first lesson in your home.

My rescue is scared of people on the sidewalk. Which program?

Platinum. Fearful dogs need structure first and then exposure at a distance they can hold, closer over days, with a handler who does not flood them. Three weeks in the home does that daily, and the unlimited lessons afterwards keep it going on your block.
