Board and train, Alvin
Board and train in Alvin: for Brazoria County families, pickup available
An Alvin dog is more likely to have a job than a Houston dog: watching a country lot, riding in the truck to the feed store on Highway 35, keeping an eye on the horses. The stay respects that and gives the dog a recall, a place and a calm that make the job easier for everybody.

The stay, from Alvin
Our trainer comes to Brazoria County, and the dog rides north.
The distance decides the logistics. An Alvin family can drive to Cypress, and some do, but two round trips of more than an hour each way is why the $250 pickup exists. Our trainer meets you at your house, sees the yard, the gate and the animals the dog lives with, loads the dog, and the drive up 288 and around the Beltway is the dog's first lesson in riding calmly. At the training home the first day is settling in: a walk, the crate, dinner on place.
Every day after that is training, in the house and out in the real places around Cypress. Updates come Monday, Wednesday and Friday as photos and video. When the program ends the dog rides home and the go-home session runs on your own lot: the long driveway, the porch, the truck, the fence line where the recall matters. That is the reason transport families get the handover at home, and VIP includes both the ride and the session.

What an Alvin dog practices
A recall that beats the bayou, a place on the porch and manners at the feed store.
Chocolate Bayou runs through Alvin, and water in Brazoria County means alligators. A recall that turns a dog at the bank is not optional here, so the stay builds it on a long line at the lake near the training home before it is ever trusted near a bayou. Texas Parks and Wildlife's species pages explain alligator behavior; the short version is that a dog off leash at the water's edge needs a trainer's recall, not a hopeful one.
The rest of the Alvin skill set is calmer. A place on the porch while people come and go, a down in the aisle at the feed store on Highway 35, a loose leash at Briscoe Park where the City of Alvin sets the leash rules, and neutrality to the trucks and trailers that pass every country lot. In the stay itself these are built in Cypress: the sidewalks, the hardware and pet stores on 290, the lake. The handover at your home moves them to your ground.
- Recall on a long line before any water
- Place on the porch with traffic coming and going
- A down in the feed store aisle
- Neutral to trucks, trailers and livestock
Which program
Platinum most often, VIP for the farm dog that must work off leash.
Gold, two weeks at $2,500, suits the Alvin dog that is friendly and simply untrained: it pulls, it jumps on the kids, it bolts through the gate. Platinum, three weeks at $3,750, is what most Alvin families book, because a dog that chases, guards or panics in storms needs the behavior modification, the field trips into public places and the unlimited private lessons that only Platinum includes. Three weeks also gives the recall time to become a habit rather than a trick.
VIP, six weeks at $10,000, is the program for a dog that has to work off leash across open ground with full reliability. The Mini-Educator is introduced properly and included, transport home is included, and the handover and every follow-up lesson happen at your property. Our team will tell you plainly on the consultation call if VIP is more than your dog needs.
- Gold: the manners set for a friendly farm dog
- Platinum: chasing, guarding, storm panic, unlimited lessons
- VIP: off leash on open ground, e-collar included
Prices and the deposit
The same published prices in Alvin as in Cypress, plus $250 for the ride.
Prices are fixed and published: Gold $2,500, Platinum $3,750, VIP $10,000. A $250 reservation deposit holds the dates and is subtracted from the total. Transport is $250 for pickup and return together and includes the first lesson at your house; for Alvin it is the sensible choice, and VIP already includes it. Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30 and Brazoria County sits on the coastal side of it, so our team follows the National Weather Service forecasts and talks through timing with any family booking a late-summer stay.

Asked and answered
Questions people ask about this.
Is Alvin really in your service area?
Yes, with transport. Alvin is about 60 to 70 minutes from the training home outside rush hour, which is why the $250 door-to-door pickup and return exists and why nearly every Alvin family uses it. You get the first lesson at your home on delivery day and the go-home session on your own property.
Can you train a dog to stay out of the bayou?
We can build a recall and a leave-it that hold near water, and we proof them at the lake near Cypress on a long line before anyone trusts them. No trainer can make a bayou safe, so the rule for Alvin families stays the same: a dog near Chocolate Bayou is on a line or has a recall that has been tested hard.
Will my dog struggle indoors because it is used to space?
The opposite is the usual result. A dog that lives on a lot often has no indoor settle at all, and the training home teaches place, the crate and calm at the door. Alvin families tend to notice the change indoors first, then on the leash, then at the gate.
How do storms and heat affect a summer stay?
Outdoor work moves to early morning and evening from May through September, and the store aisles and the house carry the hot hours, so the dog trains every day regardless. If a tropical system tracks toward Brazoria County during hurricane season, our team talks with you about timing; the dogs live in a house with a weather plan, not in runs.
Where is the go-home session for an Alvin family?
At your house, if the dog rides home with our trainer or completes VIP. If you drive up to Cypress yourself, the session runs at the training home and you can book an in-home lesson later. Either way you leave with the handling, not just a trained dog.
