Board and train, Sugar Land

Board and train in Sugar Land: Riverstone to Telfair, pickup available

Sugar Land is master-planned from Telfair to Riverstone, and its dogs are the best-groomed and the least structured in the metro: a doodle in every third house, a pool in every yard and a letter from the association when the barking starts. The stay is built for that dog, and the transport is built for that drive.

The stay, from Sugar Land

The transport does the driving, and the handover comes to your street.

We are plain about the distance: Sugar Land to Cypress is an hour with traffic, so nearly every Sugar Land family takes the $250 pickup and return. We collect the dog at your door with the food and records, the drive is its first field trip, and at the end of the program we bring it home and run the go-home session in your living room, on your sidewalk and at your pool gate. Drop-off families are welcome and do the handover in Cypress. The dog lives in the house with our trainers and the updates arrive Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

For a Sugar Land family the handover at home is the better lesson anyway, because the sidewalk past the neighbors' dogs and the pool gate are where the training has to hold.

What a Sugar Land dog learns

Sidewalk manners, pool manners, quiet at the window and a settle at Town Square.

The Sugar Land doodle drags its owner down the Riverstone sidewalks toward every dog, the Lab launches into the pool at every party and cannot be called out, the shepherd barks from the window all day and earns the association's letter, and none of them can settle under a table at Town Square. Gold installs place, the structured walk, door manners and impulse control in two weeks. Platinum adds neutrality on the sidewalks for the lunger, water manners at the lake near the training home for the pool dog and the settle on real patios, with unlimited lessons afterwards. The handover transfers the pool rules to your pool.

  • A loose leash on the Riverstone and Telfair sidewalks past other dogs
  • A wait at the pool gate and a recall out of the water
  • Quiet at the window when the delivery van stops
  • A settle under a Town Square patio table

Sugar Land specifics

The HOA, the pool and a summer as hot as anywhere.

Sugar Land's associations enforce barking and leash rules across the master-planned sections, so the quiet cue and the structured walk are part of every Sugar Land stay. Pools are in most yards and the wait at the edge is built at the lake near the training home before it is transferred to yours. Summer is the standard Houston summer, and a Sugar Land dog's stay runs on the dawn-and-dusk schedule with the store aisles at noon. The lakes along the trails are not for swimming, and Texas Parks and Wildlife's alligator guidance applies to warm slow water in Fort Bend as it does everywhere else.

  • Quiet cue and structured walk for the HOA
  • Pool manners transferred at the handover
  • Dawn and dusk outdoors in summer
  • Community lakes for recall on a line, not swimming

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

Do you pick up in Sugar Land?

Yes. The $250 transportation service collects your dog at your door in Riverstone, Telfair, Sienna, First Colony or anywhere in Sugar Land, returns it at the end of the program and includes the first lesson in your home. VIP includes it.

How far is Sugar Land from the training home?

About 45 to 55 minutes to Cypress via Grand Parkway outside rush hour, close to an hour at school-run times. The pickup makes sense at that distance, and the go-home session at home is the better lesson at this distance.

Can you fix a dog that launches into the pool at every party?

Yes. A wait at the water's edge and a recall out of the water are built at the lake near the training home on a long line and transferred to your pool in the go-home session, which is one reason Sugar Land families take the transport.

Which program for a doodle that lunges at dogs on the sidewalk?

Platinum. Three weeks builds neutrality at a distance the dog can hold, proofs it on real sidewalks with real dogs, and comes with unlimited lessons so you learn the handling on the Riverstone sidewalks yourself.
