Sienna, Missouri City

Dog training in Sienna: the Brazos-side trails and a big-dog neighborhood

Sienna is a master-planned community in Missouri City, on the south side where the Brazos River bends, with big lots, big yards and big dogs: Rottweilers, cane corsos, shepherds, Labs and doodles that outgrew their name. The trails run to the river, coyotes come up from it at night, and the HOA has opinions about the fence.

Where we train near you

The trails to the river bend, and the stores on Sienna Parkway.

When your dog comes home, the go-home session and any follow-up lessons use Sienna's own trails for the walk past bikes, strollers and other big dogs, the stores along Sienna Parkway for neutrality around carts and doors, and the greenbelts between the villages for long-line recall. The trails toward the Brazos are beautiful and they are river country: the leash stays on near the water, because the Brazos and its ponds hold alligators. Missouri City and Fort Bend County publish the animal rules that apply.

Coyotes come up from the river bottom at night and a small dog in a Sienna backyard is at risk after dark; supervision, a recall and a leave-it are the answer. From May to September outdoor sessions run before nine and after seven with the pavement tested by hand, and mosquitoes make a heartworm preventive a year-round requirement.

Sienna dogs

Ninety pounds of friendly, and nobody can hold the leash.

The Sienna dog is big. A Rottweiler that pulls the teenager off her feet on the trail, a cane corso that guards the front door from delivery drivers, a shepherd that runs the fence at the neighbor's dog until the HOA writes, a Lab that clears the pool fence. Most are friendly dogs whose size has turned ordinary bad manners into a safety problem, and a few have started guarding for real.

Platinum, three weeks, is the program most Sienna families need: the structured heel that makes a big dog walkable by anyone in the house, down-stay, impulse control, behavior modification for guarding or fence aggression, field trips and unlimited lessons after. Gold, two weeks, suits the young big dog with manners to learn and no guarding. VIP, six weeks, is off-leash reliability with the e-collar and transport included.

  • A heel any adult in the house can hold
  • A calm door with the delivery driver on the step
  • Quiet at the fence line
  • A wait at the pool gate

How it works from Sienna

Fifty minutes up Highway 6 and 99, so the pickup makes sense.

The training home is a house in Cypress off 290 near Fry Road. From Sienna that is about 50 minutes outside rush hour, Highway 6 to the Grand Parkway and up, and more at five o'clock. Drop-off is welcome and the go-home session for drop-off families happens in Cypress. Most Sienna families take the $250 transport instead: pickup at your door, return at the end, the first lesson taught in your house and on your trail.

Your dog lives inside with a limited number of other dogs, no kennel runs, trains every day and goes into stores, sidewalks, parks and the lake as it earns it. Sienna families see photos and video of the work every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The go-home session ends the stay and teaches you the handling; after Platinum and VIP, the lessons keep coming for as long as you need them.

Lessons and puppies in Sienna

In-home lessons at $220, and the puppy bundle before the puppy weighs eighty pounds.

Private lessons at your Sienna home are $220 a session. They suit a big dog with basics and one gap, the follow-up after a stay, and the family that wants every adult coached on the leash. Lessons at the training home are $160. Graduates of Platinum and VIP get unlimited follow-ups.

A large-breed puppy under four months takes the Puppy Development Bundle: four sessions of 45 to 60 minutes, $750 at your home or $550 in Cypress, covering recall, place, crate and potty routines, socialization and no jumping. A Rottweiler puppy that learns not to jump at twelve weeks is a Rottweiler that does not knock over a grandmother at a year.

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

Is Sienna in Missouri City, and do you cover it?

Yes. Sienna is a master-planned community in Missouri City, south of Highway 6 where the Brazos River bends, and we cover all of it for pickup and for in-home lessons. The training home in Cypress is about 50 minutes away outside rush hour.

Do you train guarding breeds?

Yes. Rottweilers, cane corsos, shepherds and Dobermans are a large part of our work, and aggression and reactivity are the team's specialties. The Platinum program is built for a guarding dog: clear structure, behavior modification, controlled exposure and a handover that teaches you the management.

Do you pick up in Sienna?

Yes. The $250 transportation service collects your dog at your door in Sienna, brings it home at the end and includes the first lesson in your house. It is part of VIP. Drop-off families are welcome in Cypress and do the go-home session there.

What about coyotes at the back fence?

Coyotes come up from the Brazos bottom at night and they are a real risk to small dogs and a fight risk for big ones. Training gives you a recall and a leave-it; supervision after dark is the rule, and Texas Parks and Wildlife has good guidance on coyote behavior around neighborhoods.

Will the HOA complaints about barking end?

A dog that barks at the fence all day has no off switch, and a stay builds one: place, a settle in the yard and a rule at the fence line, then follow-up lessons to keep it. Your HOA's own documents govern what it enforces; we do not quote them because they change.
