Board and train, Jersey Village

Board and train in Jersey Village: the closest city hall to the training home

Jersey Village is a small city of quiet streets, older lots and big trees, and its dogs mostly need the everyday set: a loose leash past the neighbor's Lab, quiet at the front window and a door that stays shut until released. Being this close makes every part of the stay simple.

The stay, from Jersey Village

Ten minutes up 290 on drop-off morning, and the same ten minutes back for the handover.

From Jersey Village the drop-off is the shortest errand of the week. You come up 290 from Jones Road, hand over your dog with its food, medications and records, and spend a few minutes with our trainer on the specifics: the window it barks from, the door it bolts through, the neighbor's dog it drags you toward. Then your dog joins the house, and the first day is about settling: the crate, the yard, a quiet first walk.

From day two the program runs in the training home and on the sidewalks, stores and lake around it, which are the same kind of streets and stores your dog will see back in Jersey Village. Updates arrive on Monday, Wednesday and Friday as photos and short clips. When the stay ends you come back for the go-home session, a hands-on session where you take the leash and our trainer coaches you through what the dog now knows.

What a Jersey Village dog practices

Window quiet, door manners and a loose leash on the golf-course streets.

Quiet streets breed a particular dog: one that patrols the front window, announces every walker and delivery, and pulls hard the moment the leash comes out. Inside the training home the dog learns place, a real settle while people come and go, and a door that means wait. On the sidewalks around Cypress it learns the structured walk, then the same walk past dogs, bikes and lawn crews. The Jersey Meadow golf-course streets are where you will practice it at home.

Field trips go to the pet and hardware stores along the 290 corridor, which are as close to the training home as they are to you, and to Matzke Park on Jones Road, which Harris County Precinct 4 operates and which has a dog park we use for neutrality at the fence, not for play. Check the precinct's site for current rules and hours before you go on your own.

  • A settle on place while the doorbell rings
  • A loose leash past the neighbor's dog
  • Neutrality at the Matzke Park fence
  • Calm in a store aisle on a Saturday

Programs Jersey Village families choose

Gold covers most of Jersey Village; Platinum when there is barking, lunging or fear underneath.

For a friendly dog with bad habits, Gold at $2,500 is the right call: two weeks for sit and stay, place and stay, the loose leash, door boundaries, jumping and impulse control, then the go-home session, one extra lesson and lifelong support. If the barking is reactive, the pulling turns into lunging, or the dog panics when you leave, Platinum at $3,750 is the honest recommendation. Three weeks gives our trainers room for behavior modification, structured heel and field trips, and unlimited private lessons afterwards.

VIP at $10,000 is rarer this close to home but it exists for the family that wants a six-week, off-leash-reliable dog with the Mini-Educator included and the whole handover done in your living room. Silver at $1,500 is a one-week refresher for a graduate, not a first program. Tell our team what happens at your front window and we will say plainly which one fits.

  • Gold at $2,500 for manners and the walk
  • Platinum at $3,750 for reactivity, anxiety and unlimited lessons
  • VIP at $10,000 for the off-leash dog
  • Silver at $1,500 as a graduate's refresher

Prices and the deposit

The published prices, the $250 deposit, and why transport is optional from here.

Gold is $2,500, Platinum $3,750 and VIP $10,000, the same numbers on the pricing page and the same for every zip code. A $250 reservation deposit holds your dates and is applied to the program price rather than added to it. The $250 door-to-door transport includes the first lesson at your home and is included in VIP; from Jersey Village it is a convenience rather than a necessity, and the families who add it do so because they want the handover to happen on their own street with their own front door.

Private lessons afterwards are $160 at the training home or $220 at your house, and Platinum and VIP include those lessons without limit, so the only decision is where to hold them. Returning graduates can book boarding with training refreshers when they travel. Everything is priced before you commit, the consultation call is free, and our hours are 6am to 9pm daily for calls and drop-offs.

Jersey Village specifics

Big trees, summer pavement and a Fourth of July that rattles the whole street.

Mature trees mean squirrels at every turn and a shaded walk that still gets hot: the pavement test, the back of your hand on the sidewalk for seven seconds, decides whether a July walk happens at 7am or not at all. During the stay we move outdoor work to early morning and evening from May through September and run midday sessions in the stores. Fireworks on July 4 and New Year's Eve carry across Jersey Village's quiet streets, so the settle on place is practiced with noise before the dog goes home.

  • Pavement test before every summer walk
  • Early and late outdoor sessions May to September
  • Place with noise, ready for fireworks nights
  • Mosquito and heartworm prevention year-round

Asked and answered

Questions people ask about this.

Is Jersey Village really that close to the training home?

Yes. The training home is in Cypress off 290 near Fry Road, and from Jones Road that is about 10 to 15 minutes outside rush hour. Most families here drop off, come back for the go-home session and never think about transport.

Do I need the $250 transport from Jersey Village?

Not for the distance. Some families add it anyway so the first lesson and the go-home session happen at their house, on their street, with their own front door and window as the test. VIP includes it either way.

Which program fits a dog that barks at every walker from the window?

If the barking is excitement and the dog is friendly, Gold at $2,500 handles it with place, a settle and a quiet cue. If the dog stiffens, lunges or cannot come down afterwards, that is reactivity, and Platinum at $3,750 gives our trainers the three weeks it needs plus unlimited lessons afterwards.

Can I book follow-up lessons at my house?

Yes. In-home private lessons are $220 per session and the drive to Jersey Village is short. Lessons at the training home are $160. Platinum and VIP include unlimited private lessons, so graduates schedule them as the new habits settle in.

How many dogs are in the training home at once?

A limited number, because it is a house, not a kennel. Your dog sleeps in a crate inside the home, eats on place and trains with the same trainers from drop-off to handover. That is why the results carry over to a house in Jersey Village.
